The Support Worker will join Womankind’s staff team based in central Bristol,providing trauma‑informed, practical and emotional support to young womenaged 16–18 affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence so that they canaccess counselling at Womankind. They will also provide emotional andsignposting support to women accessing Womankind’s Waiting Well Service.They will be responsible for coordinating referrals, delivering welfare calls andcarrying out triage assessments, supporting safe transitions into service withWomankind, liaising closely with partner agencies to ensure warm handovers andclear referral pathways. The Support Worker will contribute to high‑quality, safeservice delivery by maintaining accurate records, responding appropriately tosafeguarding concerns, and upholding Womankind’s values and commitment toempowering women. This includes carrying out welfare/check in calls, triage assessments,signposting and warm referrals. The purpose of the role is to ensure Womankind’sclients receive appropriate support and can access our services in a way that helpsthem feel safe, informed, and connected.1. Direct Support to Young Women (16–18)Provide one-to-one trauma-informed emotional support to young womenaffected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.Offer emotional holding and stabilisation strategies while young women awaitcounselling.Support access, engagement and completion of counselling journeys.Actively promote autonomy, resilience, and safety for women accessing ourservices through practice that reflects Womankind’s values: Empowering,Collaborative, Informed, Inclusive, and Quality.2. Waiting Well ServiceSupport key staff by providing administrative support of counselling andBefriending waiting lists.Provide welfare/check in calls and emotional support to women awaitingcounselling and Befriending.Conduct triage assessments and warm transfers where appropriate.Provide signposting and onward and warm referrals as needed.Keep case management systems up to date.3. Referral Pathways & EngagementCoordinate referrals into the Safer Young Women’s Project.Ensure warm handovers and clear communication with referrers and carers.Promote understanding of Womankind services across partners.4. Multi-Agency Liaison & Partnership WorkingBuild relationships with education, youth, social care, and health services.Represent Womankind at multi-agency meetings.Support coordinated, holistic and trauma informed care.5. Safeguarding & Risk ManagementIdentify and respond to safeguarding concerns with support from the ClinicalLead and Designated Safeguarding Leads.Contribute to risk assessments and safety plans where needed.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislationMain Purpose of the Post6. Experience supporting young women and survivors of domestic abuse andsexual violence.Knowledge of local support services.Experience with triage, welfare calls, and risk assessment.Strong communication and organisational skills.Commitment to Womankind’s mission and values.DesirableAdditional training in domestic abuse, sexual violence or safeguarding.Experience managing and coordinating waiting lists.Experience delivering training or facilitating groups.
