About the role

You’ll be joining an established, welcoming team in Llanmorlais, Swansea, supporting two fantastic gentlemen, M and P, to live full and meaningful lives in their beautiful home near the Loughor estuary. With scenic walks, local pubs and shops close by, this is a setting that naturally supports an active and balanced lifestyle.

This is a role where relationships truly matter. M and P both bring their own personalities, interests and support needs, and you’ll take the time to get to know them as individuals. M (30s) has a great sense of humour and enjoys physical activities, sport, Xbox gaming and his passion for classic car restoration. He benefits from patient, thoughtful support to process information and gentle encouragement around healthy living. P (40s) is sociable and warm, loves karaoke, and communicates using a mix of speech, signs and gestures. He also values his quiet time, and your ability to recognise and respect this is key.

You’ll work closely with colleagues, families and external professionals, ensuring support is consistent, respectful and person-centred. This role calls for empathy, resilience and a positive approach—creating a calm, supportive environment where both M and P feel safe, understood and valued every day.

About you

To thrive in this role, you’ll be compassionate, dependable and genuinely motivated to make a positive difference. While experience in social care is helpful, what matters most is your values, your willingness to learn, and your commitment to supporting people to live the lives they choose.

You’ll bring a thoughtful understanding of the complexities of autism, ADHD and anxiety, along with a calm, patient approach to supporting people who may sometimes find it difficult to regulate their emotions. Your empathy will help create a reassuring, grounded environment where people feel safe, respected and understood.

You’ll have a positive approach to risk-taking, recognising the importance of supporting independence while keeping people safe. A good understanding of Positive Behaviour Support is key, and you’ll be open to further developing your skills through both practical and theoretical Positive Behaviour Management training.

Strong communication skills are essential. You’ll be confident building trusting relationships with the people you support, their families, colleagues and professionals. An awareness of how to support someone with a hearing impairment would be a real advantage.

Above all, you’ll bring kindness, positivity and respect to every interaction, helping to create a supportive and happy home.
