Support Worker
What we do day to day
We all lead busy and meaningful lives:
- One of us attends day services Monday to Friday, which plays an important role in supporting emotional wellbeing and maintaining routine.
- Another works five days a week in the kitchen at the local primary school.
- One of us is currently looking for work and is very motivated to find a role in hospitality.
- We also value our personal relationships, with time regularly spent with partners and loved ones.
Our interests and hobbies
We enjoy a wide range of social and leisure activities, including going out for meals, trips to the cinema, shopping, visiting cafés, attending the theatre, concerts and shows, listening to music, cooking and baking. Most of all, we love socialising and enjoying the same activities as other people our age.
Our aspirations
Our goal is to maintain the independence we have already achieved and to build on it wherever possible. We aspire to secure paid employment, continue developing our confidence and skills, and enjoy positive, happy relationships.
How we explore our community
We are confident and independent within our local community and regularly visit favourite pubs, cafés, parks, cinemas, clubs and local events. With additional support, we also enjoy exploring further afield.
How we describe ourselves
We would describe ourselves as energetic, confident, kind, caring, and friendly.
Who we work best with
We get on best with people who support us respectfully and collaboratively. We do not respond well to being told what to do and value being supported rather than directed. We require female staff and prefer people with a youthful outlook, a good sense of humour, and the ability to guide us in a calm, encouraging, and non‑bossy way.
