About the Service
We’re looking for caring, patient and friendly Support Workers to join our team here at Sense Scotland. This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact in your community by helping people live their best lives.
In this role, you’ll support adults with complex communication and sensory needs. You’ll help them take part in the activities they enjoy—whether that’s going out for lunch, meeting friends, heading to the gym or swimming pool, or simply enjoying a walk outdoors.
You’ll also play an important part in helping people develop their communication, social skills, confidence, and independence. At home, you’ll provide personal care, support with meal preparation and medication, and help with everyday tasks such as laundry and cleaning.
From day one, you’ll receive tailored support and outstanding training to help you succeed. This includes one‑to‑one on-the-job guidance, face‑to‑face training from our experts, and access to a wide range of e‑learning courses to help you grow your skills.
Available Hours & Shift Patterns
We currently have part‑time positions (up to 35 hours per week) as well as relief opportunities. You’ll work a variety of shifts on a rota, which may include:
- Early and late shifts
- Occasional sleepovers and night shifts
- Weekends and public holidays
This flexibility helps us meet the needs of the people we support—and ensures that no two days are ever the same.
About You
At Sense Scotland, what matters most is your passion for making a positive difference in someone’s life. If you’re caring, enthusiastic, and motivated to support others, you’ll fit right in.
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- A positive attitude and strong team spirit
- Clear and confident communication
- The ability to use your initiative and stay organised
- A strong work ethic and comfort supporting daily routines
- Willingness to learn, grow, and try new things
- Genuine compassion, patience, and understanding
If you believe in the power of a smile and enjoy helping others engage in the activities they love, this could be the perfect role for you. Whether you’re experienced in social care and seeking a better work–life balance, or exploring a completely new career path, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
