About us

Join Our Ayrshire Care at Home & Housing Support Team!

Sense Scotland is proud to support adults across Ayrshire with communication support needs and/or physical or learning disabilities. We currently provide Care at Home and Housing Support to individuals living in their own tenancies in Saltcoats, Ayrshire. We’re now looking for caring, motivated people to join our dedicated teams — could that be you?

Please note that we do NOT currently offer visa sponsorship for our vacancies and would therefore ask that you do not apply if you require sponsorship.

About the Service

Our teams provide flexible 24-hour support. Our teams are small, consistent and person-centred around each individual to ensure stability, trust, and the highest quality of care. Every person we support has unique strengths, personalities, and ambitions. With the right support, they make meaningful contributions to their communities — and you can play a key part in that.

Don’t worry if you’re new to care — experience is welcome but not required. We offer extensive training, local induction, supervision, and ongoing support, including training in understanding behaviour and positive risk management.

As a Support Worker you will find no two days are the same. Day to day you will help individuals;

  • Communicate their needs (some people communicate through behaviour rather than speech)
  • With mobility and day-to-day practical tasks
  • With eating, drinking, and personal care where required
  • Build community connections and enjoy meaningful activities
  • Maintain their health and wellbeing
  • You’ll also work closely with families, so good communication is essential.

Additional role details include;

  • Some individuals have access to their own vehicle so a clean UK driving licence is desirable (manual or automatic)
  • 1:1 working may be required, but you’ll have regular peer support and guidance from supervisors and managers
  • You’ll be part of a supportive, friendly team where your skills and ideas are valued

What’s the shift pattern?

Shifts will operate between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Sunday, following a supportive team rota.

Who we're looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

  • Caring and compassionate
  • Enthusiastic and willing to try new things
  • Organised and reliable
  • A team player
  • Keen to learn and develop
  • Committed to keeping people safe and promoting independence

This isn’t just a job — it’s a highly rewarding career where you can make a genuine difference every day. You’ll build meaningful relationships, support people to lead fulfilling lives, and grow your own skills along the way.

If you’re looking for a rewarding role where you can bring joy, support independence, and build real connections, we’d love to hear from you!
