We’re looking for confident and reliable support workers to work alongside three gentleman who live in their own homes and want to keep building their independence. Your role will be to motivate and encourage them to maintain their individual tenancies, manage their medication safely, manage their weekly finance budget and keep on top of daily living tasks such as personal care, cooking and cleaning.
They can sometimes find it hard to get going with things, so you’ll need to be calm, patient and able to follow his support plans closely. A confident and consistent approach is key. This isn’t about doing things for them — it’s about supporting them to make their own decisions and build their skills.
You’ll also support the gentlemen to stay in work and build routines that keep them well and connected to their community. A driving licence is essential as you’ll help him them to work and other activities.
What will I be doing?
- Supporting three gentlemen to manage their tenancy and day-to-day responsibilities
- Motivating them to stay on top of personal care and medication routines
- Helping them develop skills like cooking and planning their week
- Supporting travel to and from work and community activities
- Encouraging decision-making and self-confidence
- Supporting the gentlemen with employment and maintaining work commitments
- Supporting these gentlemen to maintain friendships and relationships
Shift Patterns:
- Day shifts: working flexibly between 9am-10pm
- We’re looking for people with flexibility to work on a rota basis that includes weekdays and weekends.
- Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance to allow a healthy work life balance- something we’re really passionate about!
What we’re looking for:
- People who are patient, confident and not afraid to prompt and encourage
- Drivers with confidence to drive peoples own motability vehicles (in & outside of town)
- A practical, person-centred approach — encouraging independence, not dependency
- Reliable team players who can follow structured support plans
