Coalway Lane is a 20-bed Mental Health Rehabilitation and Recovery service supporting adults with complex mental health needs to live well and independently in the community. Rated by the CQC, our service looks and feels like a home, not a hospital, with modern detached houses where every resident has their own front door key and bedroom.
We work with a strengths-based, least restrictive approach, helping people build confidence, daily living skills, and resilience for community life.
About the job
Using your previous experience of working with people with complex mental health needs and good communication skills, you will work alongside our Mental Health Nurses, Nurse Support Practitioners and Clinical Leads to support our service users to take the next step in their personal recovery.
We work in the least restrictive way and collaborate closely with the individual and other professionals to offer ‘just enough’ support, so that people can take the risks they need to in order to reach their potential, flourish in life and transition into a community setting.
To succeed in this role, you will be highly motivated with good communication and interpersonal skills, and a genuine desire to work with this client group. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team to support our service users to achieve their own recovery goals. As this is a 24-hour service, this role includes rota/shift work over a 7-day week, including night shifts.
About you
We would love to hear from you if you possess the following:
- Knowledge and experience of working with people with complex mental health needs, who can display behaviours that challenge.
- A genuine desire to work with this client group.
- Able to work well as part of team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with the people we care for.
- Able to recognise and maintain appropriate boundaries and awareness of safeguarding issues.
