Do you share our belief that no one should ever miss out on life?
Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We're looking for Support Workers to join our team at Sense Otterhayes in Ottery St Mary; a genuinely special service around 15 minutes from Exeter, supporting a wonderful group of people across seven supported living homes and a residential service.
These are permanent roles with full-time and part-time hours available, paying £13.00 per hour. Whatever your availability, we'd love to hear from you.
Otterhayes is unlike anywhere else. On site there's a polytunnel for growing produce, an art room, and a creative studio and beyond that, the people we support enjoy drama at the Beehive Theatre, bowling, Longleat Safari, and holidays to London and beyond. We're rated Good by the CQC, and we're proud of it. No one here is ever left out of life.
Due to our rural location, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are highly desirable. Free parking is available on site.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Warm, patient, and genuinely interested in people
- Flexible and reliable across a range of shifts
- Committed to supporting people to make their own choices
- Happy to get involved in whatever the day brings such as gardening, a night out, or a city break
This role might include supporting people with:
- Daily routines, personal care, and medication
- Community outings and activities including theatre, bowling, and safaris
- Holidays and trips further afield
- Building friendships, maintaining employment, and enjoying an active social life
Benefits
- 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Matched pension contributions up to 5%.
- Cashback and discounts on high street brands (and 10% off at Sense charity shops!).
- Cycle to work scheme.
- Travel season ticket loans.
- Enhanced sick pay.
- Free DBS check if your role needs one.
- A £350 refer-a-friend scheme.
- Ongoing development opportunities.
