Supporting people to live great lives

At Affinity Trust, we support people to live meaningful lives in ways that are right for them. As a Support Worker, you’ll play an important part in helping people feel valued, connected, and supported to do the things they enjoy.

We are recruiting across a number of locations in Kidlington, where you will be supporting people with different needs and routines.

Who will I support?

You will be supporting people in their own homes, each person has their own routines, preferences and ways of communicating. Taking time to build trust and understand what matters to each person is a key part of this role. Communication is very important, as some people communicate in ways other than words, including through gestures and body language.

The people we support enjoy a range of activities such as cookery classes, Smile Group, cinema trips, bowling, holidays, visits to garden centres, and time out in the community doing the things they enjoy.

What will I do?

You’ll support people in a respectful, calm and encouraging way. This may include helping with personal care, supporting daily routines, promoting independence, and enabling people to spend meaningful time in their community.

You’ll also support with mobility and moving and handling, including the use of hoists where needed. Full training will be provided.

You’ll need to be flexible, as shifts include weekends and sleep-ins, and we’re looking for someone who can adapt to the needs of the home.

What kind of person are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who:

✨ Communicates clearly and confidently.
✨ Can adapt their approach to different needs.
✨ Enjoys working as part of a team.
✨ Is proactive, positive and patient.
✨ Understands the importance of promoting independence.
✨ Enjoys helping others achieve their goals and celebrate their successes.
✨ Is willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.

Experience in health and social care is welcome, but it is not essential. What matters most is your values and willingness to learn. We can teach you the practical skills; we’re looking for someone who genuinely wants to help others thrive.
