The Team

Team Structure

The Support and Development Worker is part of our
Support and Service Delivery pillar delivering mental
health support across Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Community Mental Health and
Wellbeing Services

This role sits within Edinburgh Community Mental Health
and Wellbeing Services which are offered across
Edinburgh. These services sit as part of our Service
Support and Delivery organisational pillar.

Guided Self Help Service

Guided Self-Help Support and Development Workers work
alongside people to their mental health and wellbeing
through offering trauma informed, person centred support
through short-term one-to-one support interventions.

Support and Development Workers

•

Facilitate initial conversations with people accessing the
service, including developing support plans, outcome
measures and reviews.

• Provide evidence-based support, based on Cognitive

Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal
Counselling (IPC) principles; focusing on improving and
understanding of mental health, wellbeing and
supported self-management.

• I support people to improve their mental health and wellbeing, and realise their potential, in line with

their hopes and goals.

• My approach is compassionate and trauma informed; putting people at the heart of all I do, ensuring

support is offered when and how people need it and is accessible to all.

• I deliver support through person centred conversations to identify and work towards outcomes that

are important to them, resulting in a greater understanding of their mental health and wellbeing, and
improved quality of life.

• I value and encourage insights and expertise of lived experience, using my own experience where
