St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, and Young Responders programmes).
Job Summary
At St John Ambulance, we are committed to delivering safe, high-quality medical supplies that support our lifesaving work across the country. As a Supplies Quality Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring we meet all relevant medical device regulations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. You’ll oversee the timely management of Field Safety Notices (FSNs) and reporting, carry out first-line quality checks across key processes and systems, and support quality governance of our courier partners and international shipments. Working closely with internal teams, customers, manufacturers and regulatory authorities, you’ll ensure clear communication, accurate documentation, and effective coordination of all compliance-related activities.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who brings experience in logistics or supply chain environments, particularly in stock management, quality reporting and process documentation. You will be confident working with compliance management systems and producing clear, accurate reports to support operational decision-making. Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and English, you will also hold a full UK driving licence. You will be highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once, while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and compliance. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will work closely with a range of internal teams and external partners. You will also be confident using digital systems and tools, with the ability to support colleagues in their effective use and promote best practice in data management. Knowledge of medical device regulations, and qualifications in logistics or quality management, would be advantageous.
About the Role
- Ensure compliance with EU MDR, UK MDR, FDA and other relevant medical device regulationsacross supply and distribution activities.
- Carry out first-line quality checkson NDC processes, system accuracy and operational reporting.
- Manage the internal distribution and allocation of assetsfrom the NDC, ensuring accurate tracking within the asset management system and approving first deliveries of new products in line with compliance specifications.
- Coordinate and monitor international shipmentsto ensure regulatory and quality requirements are met.
- Manage Field Safety Notices (FSNs)including receipt, review, implementation, communication to customers and internal teams, and tracking of actions and responses.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers and regulatory bodies, responding to compliance queries and preparing or submitting required regulatory reports.
