London
Do you love wildlife and want to share your enthusiasm about it with others? Are you passionate about the planet and protecting nature? Are you looking for experience volunteering in the conservation sector? At London Wetland Centre we love to get people closer to wetlands through our programme of family activities because we know wetlands are truly amazing habitats and super-powered solutions to many of the problems the world faces. School summer holidays are one of our busiest times for getting families enthused about wetlands and we're looking for young people to help us with our popular events.
We believe that the best way to protect nature is to help people feel connected to it so they love the natural world. Starting at an early age is the best way to ensure children become future nature advocates. Throughout the summer we'll be running an exciting programme of nature activities aimed at families, for everyone from toddlers all the way to grandparents, because we believe nature is for everyone.
As a Summer Family Engagement Volunteer you will help bring our site to life for family audiences, helping throughout the holidays from Saturday 25th July to Monday 31st August. Examples of what you might be doing include engaging children with pond life in our pond dipping sessions, assisting with Forest School-style Friday Froglets sessions and helping with special events such as art workshops for our Dragonfly Festival.
Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You'll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.
If you are interested in volunteering for WWT but don't wish to apply online, please email volunteering@wwt.org.uk or leave a message at 01453 891 231 with your name and number.
