The registered aims of the Charity are: • To help relieve the suffering and distress of persons who have been raped or sexually abused; and • To advance the education of the public in the subject of rape and sexual abuse and their effects. We do this by providing a range of support, education and prevention services, including our BACP accredited therapy service. Summary of the requirement: The subcontracted therapist be willing to commit to a minimum of 4 clients per week for adults and 3 clients per week for Children, delivering a high-quality specialist therapeutic service to victims of sexual violence. This work will be remote or face to face (dependent on role) and can be delivered at any time, on any day of the week. The Subcontractor will liaise with the Therapy Delivery Manager. As a sub-contracted therapist, you will: • Deliver high quality and ethical therapeutic practice • Be in receipt of supervision in line with BACP requirements • Provide clinical assessments • Liaise with parents, carers and guardians (Children’s Therapist) • Provide a short-term model of 8 sessions per adult client and 10 sessions per child client in line with pre-trial guidelines and SV2 business needs • Collaborate with Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA), other team members and external practitioners and professionals to provide specialist clinical services as required • Monitor therapeutic progress through regular reviews and the use of outcome measures set out by the organisation • Maintain current and accurate records of clients and client interactions utilising SV2’s case management system • To be aware of, and engage with, relevant developments in safeguarding • To attend mandatory training including SV2 induction and local authority Safeguarding Level 3 • To attend optional in-house training • Have knowledge and awareness of dissociation, the impact of trauma and vicarious trauma, and an understanding of crisis management Statement of Requirements SCT – January 2026 1 • Develop and maintain knowledge and skills relevant to this area of work • Meet the needs of the Organisation, client group and sexual offences legislation • Adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics adopted by SV2 Important Information: You will hold a recognised adult/children’s therapy qualification at level 4 or above and have a substantial number of hours post qualifying counselling practice. Your qualifications must include safeguarding level 3 for children and adults. You will be required to provide SV2 with proof of: • Professional qualifications • BACP or a recognised professional body membership • Current enhanced DBS update service membership • Up-to-date public liability and indemnity insurance to the amount of £5,000,000 • Evidence you attend monthly clinical supervision • Recently attended GDPR training and/or be registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) You will provide your own laptop which must be compatible with SV2 antivirus software. Ashgate will install the software to enable access to SV2’s case management system. This will be at a cost of under £5 per month deducted from your invoice and subject to satisfactory DBS checks. A separate policy on compatible devices is available upon request. Invoices are submitted and paid monthly in arrears by credit transfer, subject to invoice receipts. Payment will be made within 30 days of receipt of an invoice. Payments are made strictly in accordance with the above and there will be no payments due during periods when no work is provided. Income Tax and National Insurance payments are made gross and the self-employed individual is entirely responsible for their own Income Tax and National Insurance contributions. Clinical Supervision (at least 1.5 hours per month) must be with an appropriately qualified supervisor in line with the requirements of your registered body.
