Student & YA Ministry Student Role Purpose of Role: We are looking for someone to help us work with students and young adults (henceforth called young adults) at St Saviours, supporting them in their walk with Christ and navigating life as a young adult in an ever-changing world. The successful candidate will be a committed Christian who is able to handle the constantly changing demands of this role. They will need to have confidence in managing multiple aspects of the role at the same time, eCective decision-making skills, and the discretion appropriate to pastoral ministry. We would seek to help them grow into a skilled communicator across a variety of contexts, who is able to motivate volunteers in their ministry work. Length of Role: 11 months: July 2026 to June 2027. Key responsibilities To build and enhance the current strategy for our work with young adults. • Build on and develop our Tuesday Night Gatherings alongside Michael Hillier (from July 2026). This will include being part of planning, leading, and organising volunteers to deliver teaching and social programs. • To help organise and facilitate outreach opportunities for Young Adults within the local community (e.g. Besom Days, Harvest, Social Action). • Help plan and lead the annual weekend away and retreat day. • Meet with individuals 1-2-1 to help them explore and mature in their Christian faith. • Support the administration requirements of the ministry (e.g. risk assessments, event planning etc.). • Develop opportunities for young adults within the church to meet, socialize, and grow in fellowship. • Help facilitate intergenerational relationships in the church through organising termly “Family Lunches.” • Motivate and empower young adults in mission and evangelism amongst their peers. Team Leadership • Alongside Michael, develop, support and manage a team of volunteers to work with you in the ministry and build relationships with newcomers. 1 • Help Michael identify, recruit, and train new young leaders within the group. • Support and nurture volunteer teams. Teaching and Resources • Lead the production and distribution of publicity material about student activities to existing and potential members using social media. • Alongside Michael Hillier (Curate), identify and develop resources to help equip young adults with their walk with Jesus/learn more about Jesus. Wider Church • Help facilitate intergenerational engagements for students and the wider church family. • Attend church regularly to foster good relationships with and amongst the young adults of the church. • Support Michael with the welcome and integration admin for young adults. • Encourage Young Adults to take up serving opportunities within the church and the community as a means of service to the Lord and integrating into church life. Key relationships: • You will play an active role within the staC team and therefore have key relationships with them. This will include working closely with the operations team for day-to-day practicalities. • You will play an active role in getting to know key partners on Campus and across the churches in Guildford, developing our relationship with them. • You will be line managed by the St Saviour’s Curate. • We would encourage you to meet with a spiritual director or mentor and can help you source one. 2
