We’re about to relaunch our Union – and we want you to be part of it! Becoming a more effective advocate for our members is really important to us, and we’re hiring a Student Voice Coordinator (Campaigns) to help us make it happen.

Our Student Voice Coordinator (Campaigns) will support our elected Officer team and aspiring student changemakers with their influencing ambitions. You’ll be there every step of the way – helping turn their initial ideas to fully-fledged campaigns that shape the thinking of key decision makers. You’ll be providing coaching on different campaigning tactics and supportive challenge to campaigners' ideas, whilst coordinating a busy calendar of changemaking activities so their different messages don’t compete for student attention.

As a Students’ Union, we work in a politically complex context. Lots of our campaigns will focus on shaping University and local authority policy – but these are our key delivery partners and, in the case of the University, our primary funder. As Student Voice Coordinator (Campaigns), you’ll be using tact and diplomacy to ensure our campaigning strengthens those relationships and builds trust whilst delivering wins for our students.

You’ll be part of a lively and ambitious Student Voice team, whose work to develop systems for collecting and analysing student feedback will provide a great foundation for ensuring our campaigns speak to the issues our students really care about. The team trusts and empowers students to shape their university experience and isn’t afraid to challenge the policies and systems that disadvantage our students. You’ll be helping us take those challenges to the next level.

Ensuring that all our students feel respected and empowered is important to us, so if you’re interested in fostering active citizenship and the kinds of leadership skills that will help our students to make a positive difference to others, you’ll thrive in this role. You’ll always have the right support around you to do your job well and will see the positive impact you’re having on students in real-time, directly contributing to a fairer, more student-friendly experience for all 20,000+ of our student members.
