Job Title: Student Group Finance Administrator
Reporting to: Student Group Finance Supervisor
Place of Work: York University Students’ Union/ potential remote working options
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Hours of work: Total of 432 annualised hours (flexible working of 10-14 hours per week with Mondays required) semester time only, plus 1 week either side of semester time where York SU are open, although subject to change depending on work demand.

About the Role:
Are you looking for a part time finance role based around your studies? York SU is looking for a capable and ambitious finance enthusiast with a keen interest in the Student Union and an interest in a role within administration and finance to help improve student experience. The right applicant will be in post from 21st September 2026 until 11th June 2027, working 432 hours across this time period. Due to the nature of the role the role demands flexible working of 10-14 hours per week over 3-5 days (Monday working specifically required) between the hours of 8am and 5pm, semester time only plus 1 week either side of semester time while York SU offices are open, subject to change depending on work demand.
You will have great organisational, communication and problem solving skills, as well as experience of working in a team and supporting others. You should also be confident at using G Suite and Microsoft Office packages, including using formulae and other excel functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the Finance Student Group Administration, coordinating with the Student Group Finance Supervisor, as well as supporting the York SU Finance team, York SU as a whole and the student community.

The role is semester time only plus one week either side of semester where York SU are open. The role will require predominantly office working with some limited home working with prior agreement. All equipment needed will be provided. You will be able to balance work and earning with your study and your education. There may be more hours available depending on demand. Flexibility is expected to suit your own and business needs.
