We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated student to work with us as a Student Technician Intern (STEAM) on a fixed term contract for 10 months. Supporting the operations of our UHI and UHI Inverness STEAM Team we are looking for a student with an interest in STEAM and confident in use of Microsoft packages including excel and looking for work experience alongside their studies.

Job Purpose:

Applications are being invited from students at UHI Inverness who are studying towards a STEAM Qualification.

Key Accountabilities:

Your main role will be to work with the UHI STEAM delivery team by collating orders and preparing UHI Discovery Kits for courier collection and receiving equipment from them, storing this safely after a hygiene and maintenance check as well as maintaining the equipment store inventory.

This opportunity will have you partaking in a wide range of responsibilities including the opportunity to work on a mutually agreed project with the Head of STEAM development that can enhance the work of the UHI STEAM team.

Essential Criteria:
  • SCQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent (for example HNC, SVQ3 in a relevant discipline). At Intern level, working towards this level of qualification is acceptable.

  • IT skills in MS Office

  • Ability to work on own and as part of a team focused on ensure key deadlines are met.

  • Ability to prioritise and organise tasks effectively.

Please note: the successful post holder will need to pass a satisfactory PVG Scheme check through Disclosure Scotland prior to commencing employment. This may delay the start date.Recruitment
