Bloxham School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Professional with a specialism in Netball to support and develop our thriving netball programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated coach to play a key role in delivering high-quality netball provision in line with the School’s core values of participation and the pursuit of excellence. The successful candidate will contribute positively to the wider sports programme and the boarding life of the School, helping to develop and promote Bloxham netball locally and regionally.

About the Role:

Working within the Sports Coaching Department, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality netball coaching across all age groups and abilities.
  • Support both participation and performance pathways within the netball programme.
  • Coach in at least two additional sports (e.g. Hockey, Athletics, Tennis, Cricket or Rugby).
  • Assist the Strength and Conditioning Team in delivering gym-based programmes for pupils.
  • Support practical elements of PE within the curriculum and provide class cover where required.
  • Contribute to inter-house competitions, tournaments and Taster Days.
  • Support outreach activity with prep schools, primary schools and local sports clubs.
  • Assist with sports communications, including social media and the School’s results platform (SOCS).
  • Help host visiting teams, pupils and parents on match days.
  • Support extra-curricular activities, particularly within the Lower School (ages 11–13).
  • Undertake weekly evening boarding duty and support a tutor group within a designated boarding house.

This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being fully immersed in school sport and community life.

About you:

You will be an enthusiastic, committed and adaptable professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working with young people.

  Essential skills and experience:

  • Be educated to degree level (or equivalent).
  • Hold relevant national governing body coaching qualifications, including Level 2 (or above) in Netball.
  • Have playing experience in netball to a high representative level.
  • Demonstrate thorough and up-to-date knowledge of netball coaching and development.
  • Have experience coaching young people across a range of ages and abilities.
  • Be able to motivate, inspire and mentor pupils, including those on performance pathways.
  • Possess strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Be professional, enthusiastic, adaptable and a strong team player.
  • Show a genuine commitment to developing netball and promoting inclusive participation.

A First Aid at Work qualification and coaching experience in additional sports would be advantageous.

  • Permanent, full time working term time only (34 weeks a year)

Salary:

  • Sports coaching scale, £21,734 to £29,385 including holiday pay
