Overview of Role
Harrogate Ladies’ College is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach to join our vibrant school community.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates or individuals considering a future in teaching (such as undertaking a PGCE), or for those looking to gain valuable experience working with children in an educational setting.
We offer a wide range of sports, including netball, football, swimming, cricket, athletics, badminton, tennis and basketball. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a strong background in football, as this is a growing area of interest among our pupils. A qualification in teaching swimming would also be advantageous.
About the Role
- Minimum of 4 working days per week
- Includes some evening and weekend commitments
You will primarily support teaching staff across College and Highfield, working with pupils aged 5–18 (both boys and girls). The role includes:
- Assisting with the delivery of sports sessions
- Supporting the administration and organisation of the sports programme
- Attending fixtures during the week and at weekends
- Leading and supporting extracurricular sports clubs
- Carrying out additional duties as reasonably required within the school
About You
You do not need to be a qualified PE teacher; however, you must have the confidence and ability to manage groups of pupils, both under supervision and, at times, independently.
