Sports Coach required for September 2026

Overview of Role

Harrogate Ladies’ College is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach to join our vibrant school community.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates or individuals considering a future in teaching (such as undertaking a PGCE), or for those looking to gain valuable experience working with children in an educational setting.

We offer a wide range of sports, including netball, football, swimming, cricket, athletics, badminton, tennis and basketball. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a strong background in football, as this is a growing area of interest among our pupils. A qualification in teaching swimming would also be advantageous.

About the Role

• Minimum of 4 working days per week
• Includes some evening and weekend commitments

You will primarily support teaching staff across College and Highfield, working with pupils aged 5–18 (both boys and girls). The role includes:

• Assisting with the delivery of sports sessions
• Supporting the administration and organisation of the sports programme
• Attending fixtures during the week and at weekends
• Leading and supporting extracurricular sports clubs
• Carrying out additional duties as reasonably required within the school

About You
You do not need to be a qualified PE teacher; however, you must have the confidence and ability to manage groups of pupils, both under supervision and, at times, independently.
