Are you a confident leader with a passion for sport, safety, and exceptional customer service? We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated Duty Managerto play a key role in the day-to-day running of a busy, high-quality sports centre, supporting both students and the wider community.
About the Role
As Duty Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Sports Centre and its facilities. From leading a team and overseeing health & safety, to managing pool operations and delivering outstanding customer experiences, no two days are the same.
You’ll also occasionally support other ACS Sports Centres, adding variety to your role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and motivate a team of Recreation Assistants and Reception staff
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring facilities are safe, clean, and fully operational
- Take responsibility for health & safety, acting as the lead first aider on shift
- Manage pool operations and plant room maintenance
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally
- Support staff training, recruitment, and performance management
- Act as key holder, overseeing opening and closing procedures
- Respond to emergencies confidently in line with procedures
- Maintain high standards across all areas of service delivery
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
- First Aid at Work (3-Day)
- Pool Plant Operators Certificate
- Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification
- Experience managing sports facilities or activities
- Proven team leadership experience
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations
Desirable:
- Qualification in Sports Management
- Experience in an educational environment
