ACS International School Egham is seeking an energetic, passionate, and experienced Sports and Activities Coordinator & PE Teacher to lead and develop our dynamic K–12 athletics and co-curricular programme while delivering high-quality Physical Education teaching.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping a vibrant and inclusive programme that balances competitive athletics, developmental sport, and enriching co-curricular opportunities.

Working closely with school leadership, coaches, staff, students, and parents, the Sports and Activities Coordinator & PE Teacher will lead a dedicated team of coaches, activity leaders, and administrative support staff to deliver an exceptional student experience both within and beyond the classroom. The role includes a 50% teaching timetable.

Key Responsibilities:

Sports & Activities Leadership

  • Lead and oversee the school’s athletics and co-curricular programme across K–12.
  • Coordinate ACS Egham’s participation in:
    International Schools Athletic Association (ISAA)
    Independent Schools Association (ISA)
    London Schools Sports Association (LSSA)
  • Develop partnerships and sporting links with local, national, and international schools.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the school’s co-curricular programme.
  • Act as the main point of contact for students, staff, and parents regarding sports and activities.

PE Teaching

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive, and high-quality Physical Education lessons across the school.
  • Inspire students to develop confidence, teamwork, resilience, and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting within the PE department.
  • Support the continued development of the school’s health, wellbeing, and physical literacy initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure strong alignment between curricular and co-curricular provision.

Programme Coordination

  • Oversee scheduling and delivery of all after-school activities and athletics programmes.
  • Support students, coaches, teachers, and activity leaders involved in the programme.
  • Ensure programmes are enjoyable, inclusive, and contribute positively to student wellbeing and development.
  • Represent ACS Egham at relevant association meetings and events.

Leadership and Staff Development

  • Recruit, train, and support external coaches and activity leaders.
  • Ensure all staff comply with safeguarding and health & safety requirements.
  • Lead and line-manage administrative support and co-curricular coordination staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Operational Management

  • Manage the annual athletics and activities budget, including travel, competitions, equipment, uniforms, and hosting costs.
  • Coordinate travel and logistics for fixtures, tournaments, and international events.
  • Ensure all activities operate in accordance with safeguarding, health & safety, and risk assessment procedures.
  • Liaise with Facilities and Sports Centre teams regarding venue usage, maintenance, and event operations.

Planning and Communication

  • Develop and manage the annual calendar of sports fixtures and co-curricular events.
  • Maintain effective communication with school leadership, staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
  • Promote ACS achievements and strengthen engagement within the school and local community.

Evaluation and Development

  • Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of programmes through feedback and performance analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree + a recognised teaching qualification, QTS or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Physical Education within a school setting.
  • Experience leading sports, athletics, or co-curricular programmes.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • A passion for student development, wellbeing, and inclusive participation.
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, and large-scale events.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety practices within schools.
  • The ability to build strong relationships across a diverse international school community.
