Role Purpose

To provide strategic leadership for the development, sustainability and profile of sport and physical activity across Hyndburn.
The Head of Sport & Club Development will lead the strengthening of local sport infrastructure, oversee borough-wide club network
development, build strong and effective partnerships with National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs) and education providers, and
take strategic responsibility for marketing and promotion of sport and physical activity opportunities.

Essential Skills / Experience:
Essential

•  Senior experience in sport, PE, health or physical activity development.
•  Strong understanding of club infrastructure and NGB systems.
•  Proven strategic partnership leadership.
•  Experience managing budgets and teams.
•  Experience delivering marketing or participation growth campaigns.
•  Experience of obtaining external grant funding.
•  Ability to analyse data and produce clear, actionable reports for management.
•  Ability to use insight and data to inform targeting and messaging.
•  Strong strategic planning and reporting capability.
•  Commitment to inclusive practice.
•  Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and calendars
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•  Strong customer service mindset, able to support managers, staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders
•  Proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvements

Desirable

•  Experience within a leisure trust or local authority environment.
•  Knowledge of the Lancashire sport landscape.
•  High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with CRM systems

•  Educated to Degree level or qualified by experience, ideally with a Sport, PE or Health focus
