Our specialist multi-disciplinary team of teachers, occupationaltherapists, speech and language therapists, nursery co-ordinatorsand learning assistants identify and put the supports in place tomake a child feel safe and regulated so they can enjoy learning. Our Wellbeing charter is available to read hereThe TeamThis role is part of our small Outreach Team, consisting of 8 employees.The charity employs 30 staff, based across our 2 sites. We also have the support ofseveral volunteers, a Board of Trustees and our Charity Ambassadors.Role DescriptionYou will join our multi-disciplinary team on a part-time basis as a paediatric speech andlanguage therapist. Working on an outreach basis, you will directly support children andparents in their homes, settings and online. The caseload of face to face support will belargely based in Buckinghamshire.Reporting to our Outreach Services Lead and Head of Children’s Services, the roleprimarily provides individualised support to children. Additionally, the positionsupports families and schools both in–person and via our digital platform, The Parents’Portal. This will include being involved in the development of content and the deliveryof online webinars and workshops.You will have experience in:Working with a caseload of children aged 2-12 yearsCarrying out dynamic assessments and writing reports that are timely,neurodiversity affirming and adhere with HCPC and RCSLT guidelines Liaising with and providing direct support to children, parents, teachers andpractitionersActively listening to client needs and responding with bespoke, needs-led solutionsTeaching and coaching others to enhance their knowledge and practical applicationof tools and strategies - both online and face to faceCreating engaging learning resources for different audiencesWorking within a multi-disciplinary team.8Essential skills:Degree in Speech and Language TherapyRegistered with and adheres to Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)standardsSubstantial experience working with young children who have sensory andcommunication differences Experience carrying out a range of standardised and non-standardised assessmentsKnowledge and continued development of neurodiversity affirming practice andthe neurodiversity paradigm. You will demonstrate an interest in andunderstanding of, the neurodiversity paradigm, neurodivergent informed researchand practice.
