Opening in 2018, we ' re 8 years old. In those 8 years, we haven 't stopped learning and we haven 't stopped developing. From a global pandemic to the cost of living crisis, we are there for young people when they need us and adapt to their ever-changing needs.

Through our doors, you 'll find a 3G pitch, gym, health and wellbeing room, teaching kitchen, dance studio, music room, and much more. Building on the success of our Adlington satellite centre, Inspire is expanding its youth offer into South Ribble. This post will oversee the delivery of our outreach and satellite programmes, ensuring high-quality opportunities and support for young people across the area.

THE ROLE
As a Youth Worker at Inspire’s Satellite Centre, you will deliver engaging and inclusive youth work in South Ribble every Thursday, Friday and Saturday (6–9pm). Supporting young people aged 11–18, you’ll run sports, arts, health and wellbeing activities, alongside outreach work in parks, neighbourhoods and schools.
You’ll create a safe, welcoming environment where young people can have fun, build relationships and develop skills. Working with Activity Coordinators, you’ll help deliver programmes that promote confidence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for young people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and deliver a fun, engaging and developmental programme for young people aged 11–18, incorporating a variety of activities such as arts, games, challenges, wellbeing and sports
Deliver face-to-face sessions both within the centre and through outreach/detached work in the community
Engage and build positive relationships with all young people, including those who are disengaged or from disadvantaged backgrounds
Manage behaviour positively, challenging discrimination and promoting respect and inclusion
Be a role model for young people and present a positive “can do” attitude
C Undertake and attend regular training and development sessions and events where required
Support young people to develop skills, confidence and positive relationships through informal education
Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality sessions
● Communicate effectively and professionally with young people, families, colleagues and the wider community
C Ensure all activities follow safeguarding, health & safety and equality best practice
Carry out any other duties as required by Inspire, demonstrating flexibility and a positive approach to supporting the wider team
THE ESSENTIALS
Experience of working with young people aged 11-18 years
Experience of working in a team
● Knowledge of health and safety, diversity awareness and safeguarding best practice
Ability to engage and build positive relationships with young people
Experience of delivering a range of informal, creative activities to young people
Able to work both as part of a team and under own initiative
Able to communicate effectively with young people, parents, team members and members of the public

THE DESIRABLES
Experience of supporting young people who are disaffected, underachieving and/or have social/emotional barriers to participation
● Experience of working within disadvantaged communities.
Local knowledge of working in and supporting the community in the South Ribble area.
• Introduction to Youth Work or Youth and Community Work Level 1
Driving license
