Who are we?

WRAP is a global environmental action NGO championing the shift towards a circular economy, fundamentally reshaping how we produce, consume, and manage resources. Our vision is a world transformed, in which Circular Living is commonplace. Where the systems that provide our everyday goods contribute to the world's prosperity and sustainability instead of reducing it.

WRAP is driving Circular Living through four key areas: accelerating the circular economy, future-proofing food, preventing problem plastics and transforming textiles. We catalyse action from policy makers, businesses, NGOs and citizens to make it happen.

We have offices in the UK, USA and EU, and live projects in over 30 countries.

Join us at WRAP and you'll drive important change to make Circular Living the norm.

The role

Social media plays a huge role in most communications and marketing teams. But opportunities to use it to influence some of the world's biggest Fortune 500 businesses, governments and NGOs – and help drive positive environmental change on a global scale – are much rarer.

That's exactly what you'll do at WRAP. We’re looking for a talented Social Media Specialist who lives and breathes social media and knows how to use it to grow an organisation’s profile, influence and impact around the world.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Social media management and delivery:Bringing our social media strategy to life through the day-to-day management of WRAP's corporate channels (LinkedIn and X) and paid social activity. You'll also build thriving online communities, help grow the personal brands of our people, and develop relationships with partners, stakeholders and influencers to identify opportunities to collaborate and extend our reach.
  • Content creation:Content creation is at the heart of this role – whether that's ideating, planning, filming, presenting or editing. You'll love getting out from behind the desk to capture authentic, social-first content, whether that's filming with colleagues, interviewing partners, covering events or visiting projects. You'll know how to turn complex topics into compelling, platform-native stories that people genuinely want to watch, read and share.
  • Social media trends:By your very nature, you'll have your finger firmly on the pulse of social media trends and developments. You'll know what great content looks like and where opportunities lie, understand what drives engagement, think critically about where WRAP can add value to conversations, and be curious enough to keep testing, learning and experimenting.
  • Improving performance:Using audience insight, empathy, performance data and channel analytics, you'll continually refine content for our diverse audiences, optimise performance and make recommendations that help shape the ongoing evolution of WRAP's social media approach.

You’ll thrive here if you…

  • Are a people person who is positive, curious, confident, proactive and creative, with a willingness to experiment, learn and continuously improve.
  • Are able to build and maintain relationships both internally – working across multi-disciplinary and multi-national teams – and with partners, influencers and stakeholders.
  • Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, balance planned and reactive content and deliver to deadlines.
  • Are based within a reasonable travelling distance of WRAP's London office and are happy travelling regularly for content creation.

About WRAP

WRAP is a climate action NGO working around the globe to tackle the causes of the climate crisis and give the planet a sustainable future. Our vision is a thriving world in which climate change is no longer a problem.

At WRAP we believe that our natural resources shouldn’t be wasted. And that everything we use should be re-used and recycled. Our mission is to make the world a more sustainable place. We bring people together, we act on the facts, and we drive change.

Our core purpose is to help tackle climate change and protect our planet by changing the way things are produced, consumed and disposed of.

If you join us at WRAP – and we think you should – you'll help us by tackling sustainable product design, reducing waste, encouraging re-use or advocating recycling across the food and drink, plastic packaging, clothing and textiles and the collections and recycling sectors.

You can help us all to do better.
