Job Title: Social Media & Marketing Executive

Reports to: Marketing Manager

Salary: Scale 6, Points 26-28, £26,229 - £27.982 per annum, pro rata

Hours of work: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

As our Social Marketing and Social Media Executive you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering and implementing a yearly digital marketing strategy in line with organisational objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Manage and update content across St Basils websites using our CMS when needed.

  • Take ownership of all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok etc.), including scheduling, content creation, analysis and reporting.

  • Support digital campaigns across paid and organic channels, driving awareness, fundraising, service uptake, and engagement.

  • Monitor, analyse, and report on digital performance, web traffic, and social analytics to inform future planning.

  • Identify and develop engaging stories from across the organisation to amplify online.

  • Ensure consistent brand presence across all digital outputs.

  • Work alongside the PR and Marketing team to support with press releases, photography, and video content creation.

  • Respond professionally and promptly to incoming messages and engagement via digital platforms.

  • Help maintain and expand our visual content library, ensuring permissions are recorded and upheld.

  • Assist in the production of St Basils marketing literature and digital marketing assets including producing and editing videos.

  • Contribute ideas for innovation, testing, and improving our digital activity.

  • Attend and support key fundraising and public events where necessary.

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, young people, external partners, and supporters.

QUALIFICATION:

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level or can demonstrate relevant experience of a similar role.

Desirable:

  • CIM or equivalent marketing qualification

ROLE EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a digital marketing or communications role.

  • Experience of delivering on agreed targets and KPI’s

  • Confident in using content management systems (CMS), email marketing platforms, and social media scheduling tools

  • Strong understanding of key social media platforms and their audiences

  • Experience creating and editing multimedia content (images, video, etc.)

    Desirable:
  • Experience working in the charity, housing, or youth sector

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)

KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Experience working within brand guidelines

  • Sound experience of IT systems including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrable understanding of EDI principles and creating inclusive content

  • Good Understanding of GDPR

  • Understanding of youth homelessness or related social issues.

  • Good knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics

    Desirable:
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital content
