Job Title Social Media Co-ordinator Responsible to Marketing and Alumni Manager / Head Role Overview The primary focus of the role is to support the Marketing and Alumni Manager in the identification and creation of content for social media posts and adverts. Responsibilities and Duties ● Create a Social Media timeline to ensure engagement with the community at key times ● Monitor and report about analytics for Google and social media on a monthly basis and provide this information to the Marketing and Alumni Manager Investigate digital marketing and advertising opportunities ● Update the website when required ● Work with the Marketing and Alumni Manager and the agency to create digital marketing assets ● ● Create email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp ● Create content to use on a range of advertising sites as required ● Support the marketing and admissions team with a range of additional, non-digital tasks which will support whole school marketing and promotion (eg ordering marketing merchandise etc) ● Along with the Marketing and Alumni Manager handle all the school’s social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube accounts, creating regular content for these and responding to contacts via these channels in a timely manner; an emphasis will be on visual assets (utilising Hootsuite as a planning tool where possible); ● Creating and publishing engaging social media adverts via Meta Business for Facebook and Instagram; ● Develop ideas for new content strands, unique to Clayesmore ● Write compelling copy to support video and digital content and write blog content to tell the Clayesmore story ● Monitor and engage with relevant digital partner content and maximise reach on behalf of Clayesmore ● Work with local and industry media owners and micro influencers to extend reach and engagement with Clayesmore content ● Develop digital and print artwork for above the line campaigns Person Specification Essential ● Embody the values of Clayesmore, demonstrating loyalty to the school and its ethos ● Experience creating and scheduling engaging content across multiple social media platforms ● Proven ability to write clear engaging and brand-appropriate copy for digital channels ● Experience using social media management and scheduling tools (eg, Hootsuite or similar) ● Experience creating email marketing campaigns, ideally using Mailchimp ● Strong organisation skills, with the ability to plan a social media timeline/content calendar ● High level of attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines ● Ability to generate ideas for new content strands and campaigns ● Flexible approach to hours/days worked Desirable ● Experience of working in an independent school environment ● Understanding of integrated marketing campaigns ● Awareness of emerging digital trends and advertising opportunities Additional Information ● This is a term time only role ● 20 contractual hours per week, the days of work will be flexible depending on the needs of the department ● Some evening and weekend work may be required and time off in lieu will be given ● Benefits include free membership of the Clayesmore Sports Centre, Pension and Death in Service benefits. ● Membership of the Clayesmore Society and associated member benefits Date prepared: Prepared by: January 2026 Head / Head of HR Clayesmore School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
