Position Information

Operate high/medium/low pressure boilers. Maintain and operate all equipment in the heating plant as directed. Perform general repairs and replacements to damaged, deteriorated, or otherwise non-functioning conditions found in and about the University buildings and campus. Apply thorough knowledge of one or more of the accepted trades with a basic knowledge of three others. Applicable trades include carpenter, painter, electrician, plumber, fleet mechanic, boiler tender, HVAC Technician. Apply skill in the use of tools and equipment and be responsible for tools, materials, and devices to perform tasks according to accepted practices. Perform related duties as required to accomplish tasks.

Schedule: The work schedule is a flexible, rotating schedule Location: Central Heating Plant
Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma ( or equivalent) required. Experience sufficient to qualify as a journeyman trades person with a minimum of five (5) years actual on the job work experience. Required operation of equipment related to the trade. Ability and willingness to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Ability to verbalize or write reports/forms necessary to the job. Valid drivers license and ability to meet University requirements to be authorized to drive University vehicles. Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude. Required bending, heavy lifting, climbing ladders and stairs.

Preferred Qualifications

A.A.S, HVAC

Previous high and low pressure boiler experience desired

Associates degree in HVAC Technology, Electrical Technology or Mechanical Technology preferred.

Salary$19.78-$28.09/hr Level E SEIU The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.Status (FT, PT, Seasonal, Temp)Full-time (12 months)
