Duration:
This is a temporary position from 22 June – 2 September 2026. Your normal working week is a minimum of 37.5 hours between 07:00-23:30 daily Monday to Sunday, although additional hours may be required. You will be working on a rota basis. However, regular late night and weekend working will be required.
Job Purpose Summary:
Reporting to the Site Manager and Deputy Site Managers, the Site Assistants will support the delivery of a safe and secure event site. This will involve working in a collaborative way with multiple stakeholders to deliver the Edinburgh Castle Arena.
Key Duties:
Assist the Site Manager/Deputy Site Managers with maintaining a safe and secure site, and conduct logistics-based tasks as required. This could include but is not limited to:
- Site Security/Safety:
- Support the maintenance of a secure site, keeping members of the public from accessing restricted areas
- Assist the coordination of vehicle access to the site
- Conduct daily safety checks and maintain a live log of all health & safety issues
- Support site induction process for contractors and relevant staff
- Site Logistics:
- Support the efforts of the Site Manager and Site Facilities Team to ensure the site is kept clean and clear of waste
- Assist with making the site event ready on event days including setting up rest areas and distributing signage
- Support the organisation of site event equipment storage and maintenance
- Manual handling work will be required
Essential Criteria:
- Ability to follow instruction
- Ability to assist with manual handling
- Presentable, polite, confident, approachable, and helpful
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to form and maintain positive working relationships
- Have a positive can-do attitude
- Over 18 years of age
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous site experience in an event environment
- First Aid Qualified
