Key Responsibilities
Individual Teaching
Deliver approximately 8 individual singing lessons per week (40 minutes each). There might be the possibility of this growing over time.
Teach students from beginner level through to highly advanced performers, including pupils preparing for ATCL/LTCL diplomas, music college auditions and choral awards at universities.
• Tailor teaching methods to support diverse learning styles and musical goals.
Prepare students for exams, performances, competitions, and auditions as appropriate.
Maintain accurate lesson records, progress reports as determined with clients, and examination entries.
Contribution to School Music Life
Inspire and encourage pupils to participate fully in the musical life of the school.
• Contribute to concerts, recitals, workshops, and other performance opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Music Department to support curriculum and co-curricular activities.
Promote high musical standards and a culture of enjoyment, commitment, and achievement.
Person Specification
Essential
Exceptional singer with proven teaching experience at advanced levels.
Experience preparing students for high-level graded exams and performance diplomas (e.g., LTCL).
Experience supporting students pursuing music scholarships, music college entries and university choral awards.
Strong musicianship, including excellent ensemble skills.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and nurture young musicians of all abilities.
Strong communication, organisational skills, and professionalism.
Desirable
Experience teaching across multiple styles. Some knowledge of Jazz/ Pop / Musical Theatre styles would be of interest.
• Familiarity with a wide range of singing teaching approaches and repertoire.

Remuneration
• 40-minute lessons are charged at £33
• Contribution towards mileage if travelling beyond Shrewsbury/Shropshire area
