Do you enjoy driving and have a passion for supporting dog welfare?
We are looking for a Shop Van Driver to support Deal charity shop with the careful movement, collection and delivery of all merchandise. This is a part time role working 15 hours per week.
What does this role do?
As a dedicated and organised Shop Van driver, you’ll:
- pick up donated items (including small furniture items and clothes) from households, businesses, or designated donation stations and deliver goods to the charity shop location and storage facilities to agreed timescales and targets.
- load and unload vehicles safely, adhering to manual handling guidelines, securing loads to prevent damage.
- maintain accurate records of mileage and donation logs, always adhering to road safety regulations.
- conduct daily vehicle safety checks, refuelling, keeping the vehicle clean and maintaining the vehicle in a roadworthy condition.
- represent the charity when interacting with donors and customers, taking the opportunity to promote Gift Aid and maintain a professional and friendly demeanour.
- assist Shop Managers in other ad hoc retail duties within the shops or storage facilities when not on the road driving.
Could this be you?
To be successful in this role, you'll have a full, clean manual driving license and experience of multi-site deliveries and collections, including effective route planning. You will have great customer service skills and proven ability of keeping accurate records and administrative systems.
