Join Saint Catherine’s Hospice

As Saint Catherine’s Hospice approaches our 40th Anniversary, we are entering an exciting new period of growth and development. For four decades, we have provided compassionate care and support to people and families across our community, and we continue to expand our services to meet increasing demand.

Alongside our specialist Palliative and End of Life Care services, we are enhancing and developing Respite Care, Convalescent Rehabilitation, Symptom Management, and Wellbeing Services — creating more opportunities than ever to make a meaningful difference.

Our retail shops play a vital role in raising the funds that support this important work, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and commercially minded Shop Manager to lead our Driffield shop.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced retail professional to manage and develop a successful charity shop within the local community.

As Shop Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Driffield shop, leading a team of volunteers to maximise sales and profitability while maintaining high standards of customer service, merchandising, and shop presentation.

You will combine commercial awareness with creativity and strong people skills to create a welcoming shopping environment that supports both customers and volunteers. Working closely with the wider Retail, Marketing, and Fundraising teams, you will help promote the shop within the community and support the continued growth of Saint Catherine’s retail operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of the Driffield shop.
  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of volunteers.
  • Deliver sales targets, KPIs, and Gift Aid objectives.
  • Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and shop presentation.
  • Ensure excellent customer service at all times.
  • Support stock management, pricing, and profitability.
  • Promote the shop within the local community.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and retail procedures.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about retail and motivated by making a difference.

You will:

  • Have previous retail supervisory or management experience.
  • Be highly organised with excellent communication skills.
  • Have experience working towards sales targets and KPIs.
  • Be confident leading and motivating volunteers and colleagues.
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused.
  • Have a keen interest in charity retail and community engagement.
  • Be flexible to work 5 days out of 7, including weekends and bank holidays.

Why Join Us?

At Saint Catherine’s Hospice, you will become part of a supportive, ambitious, and forward-thinking organisation where your contribution truly matters.

In return, we offer:

  • The opportunity to make a real impact within your local community.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Staff discount across our charity shops.
  • The chance to be part of an exciting period of growth and development.
