Description
Uppingham School is seeking a hard-working, customer-focused Shop Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of our onsite shop.
Our School Shop serves primarily both pupils and staff, providing uniform, sports equipment and merchandise as well as supplying books to academic departments. Working closely with the School Shop Manager, you will deliver an excellent customer experience, assist with upselling merchandise, process deliveries and ensure shop displays and stock levels are well-maintained.
This is a full-time, term-time role working 37 weeks per year, including three weeks at the end of the summer holidays, making it ideal for someone seeking to balance full-time work with term-time commitments.
We are looking for an individual with previous retail experience and a proven ability to achieve sales goals while building productive customer relationships. Strong organisational skills are essential, including the ability to manage the replenishment and turnover of stock. You will also need excellent verbal and written communication skills, a positive and energetic approach and a genuine commitment to delivering high standards of customer service.
