The incumbent, Raymond Obin, writes:
"Shaw cum Donnington is a small congregation (<50, and growing) in a large parish (>10,000). There are opportunities. Here, you will meet many varied people and learn how to minister effectively to them on Sundays and other days in church and outside; you will visit schools and care homes for the elderly; you will have opportunities to encourage the faithful, give assurance to those with doubts and talk to unbelievers; you will minister to the dying, take funerals, weddings and baptisms, and learn to be in full-time Christian ministry.
"The incumbent’s vision for Shaw is for the Bible to be preached clearly and consistently, praying for and waiting on the Holy Spirit to work in and through the people in the church, helping them grow in discipleship and seeing that they are equipped for service in the church and the local community, and looking to see people coming to faith and joining the church – all with the Hope of the Gospel of Christ as our goal.
