Service Development Manager

Westbank Community Health and Care is looking for a Service Development Manager to help drive the growth and sustainability of our health, wellbeing and carer services.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in expanding services that genuinely improve people’s lives, working at the heart of a values-led, community-focused organisation.

What you’ll be doing

Identifying and developing new opportunities for funded services
Leading on tenders, funding bids and business proposals
Building strong partnerships with the NHS, local authorities and community organisations
Developing innovative service models and income-generating ideas
Supporting the growth and performance of existing contracts
Analysing trends, policy and local needs to shape future services

What we’re looking for

Experience in service development, commissioning, or contract management within health, social care or the voluntary sector
Experience writing successful bids, tenders or funding applications
Strong understanding of the wider VCSE landscape
Excellent communication, networking and influencing skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
A proactive, solutions-focused and collaborative approach
Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to spot trends and opportunities

Desirable:

Experience in the voluntary or community sector
Experience developing new or innovative service models
Understanding of social value or impact measurement

Neighbourhood Friends
Neighbourhood Friends is a flexible and responsive support service focussed on avoiding hospital admissions and reducing hospital stays.
Health WalksDid you know we offer 12,000 Health Walk places across 24 locations in Devon, offering the chance to explore the outdoors, get to know the local area and meet new friends?
Walks are accessible to all and range from Short Level 1 - Up to 30 minutes, to Long Level 3 - 60 to 90 minutes.
All walks are led by our fully trained Volunteer Walk Leaders.

Our patient transport service enables people to attend their healthcare appointments and exercise and rehabilitation classes.
In 2023, our Patient Transport Services Team supported over 3,200 referrals.
