The Senior Social Media Officer role reports to the Social Media and Influencer Relations Manager, and sits within the Public Engagement team. This department is responsible for Mind's media, social media, celebrity, and influencer relations work which supports the organisations' goals across Social Impact and Income Generation.
The post holder will have the following core accountabilities:
1. Organic social media content delivery: Lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of organic content across Mind's social media channels to support organisational objectives across campaigning, storytelling, advice and information, and policy influencing as well as fundraising, retail and partnerships. Create highly engaging and valuable multi-media content that follows our brand guidelines and is relevant to our audiences.
2. Projects: Lead on the planning, development and delivery of major social media campaigns and projects, working closely with colleagues across the organisation. Travel to Mind events, local Minds and Mind charity shops to create content.
3. Collaboration: Work with colleagues across Income, Social Impact and Evidence, Advocacy and Performance directorates to maximise social media opportunities and ensure consistent messaging. Provide advice to shops, local Minds and internal colleagues on making the most of social media engagement and developing digital skills. Lead on our collaborations with other organisations and accounts that align with our vison and mission.
4. Equity and culture: Ensure all social media work reflects Mind's commitment to equity, inclusion and antiracism. Involve people with lived experience of mental health problems, particularly from Mind's Equity priority groups (young people, people in poverty and people from racialised communities) - with the right support, to ensure safe and empowering participation.
5. Content testing, learning & improvement: Regularly test and refine content strategy using trends, analytics, audience feedback, research and competitor insight to suggest improvements and enhance content performance. Lead on our approach to adopting new and emerging social media channels.
6. Community and management: Act as a day‑to‑day contact for Mind's social media moderation agency, responding to queries and supporting smooth moderation processes. Support our moderation agency by answering queries regularly.
7. Advice and guidance: Provide expert social media advice across the organisation, including to senior leaders, covering both political influencing moments and fundraising campaigns and stories. Support Mind's reputational risk management processes. Contribute to the development of channel strategies for Mind's social channels.
8. Other Duties: Represent Mind's media function at external events and meetings and undertake any other duties in line with the role.
