 About the role

Do you have a nose for a story, top-notch research and writing skills, and the desire to make a difference in consumers' lives?

We are looking for a Senior Researcher/Writer with a BSc or MSc in Dietetics or Nutrition (AfN accredited) to join our Health & Wellbeing team specialising in the area of Nutrition.

Key responsibilities include: 

Join our award-winning Health & Wellbeing team at Which? and help consumers cut through the noise of a complex market.

As a Senior Researcher and Writer, you will analyse supplement ingredients, investigate the evidence behind different products, and interrogate food and nutrition labels. We are looking for someone with rigorous research skills who can dig into the truth behind health claims, compare choices, and deliver clear, actionable insights on what consumers should actually buy.

In this role, you will use a diverse range of investigative methods to uncover the critical issues consumers face when making food and nutrition choices. The quality of your analysis will play a vital role in upholding our well-deserved reputation for fairness, thoroughness, and absolute reliability.

You will deliver high-impact content with a primary focus on our digital platforms, alongside contributions to our magazine. Your insights and research may also play a pivotal role in supporting Which? campaigns within the nutrition and health sector.

In this role you will:

  • Investigate & Analyse:Scrutinise ingredient lists, evaluate product claims, and conduct rigorous research into food and supplements.
  • Translate science into story-telling :Turn complex data and scientific findings into clear, engaging content for our digital channels and print magazine.
  • Be the Face & Voice:Jump on camera to debunk the latest TikTok food fads, share your findings on our regularHealthy Livingpodcast, and act as a media spokesperson for press and wider broadcast opportunities.
  • Drive Engagement:Use your expertise to engage our current readers and attract new audiences.

As a Senior member of the team, we are looking for an experienced professional who can hit the ground running from day one. You should be comfortable managing a higher project load, spearheading complex research pieces, and navigating intricate subject matter with minimal supervision.

About you:

  • BSc or MSc in Dietetics or Nutrition (AfN accredited)
  • Excellent print and online writing skills, including writing to brief, an understanding of SEO and experience of using CMS software
  • Solid analytical and research skills from carrying out a range of in-depth research, paired with good numeracy and data skills
  • Strong project and time management skills; adept at juggling multiple projects to tight deadlines and always meeting deadlines
  • Creativity and the ability to pitch new ideas that work well for our audiences, demonstrating a good understanding of consumer issues in food and nutrition.

The interview process for this role involves:-

  • The interview process will include a written task and an interview. The interview process will last around two hours - One hour for the interview and another for the written task which will be shared on the day.
