About the role

Reporting in to the Digital Product Owner, the Senior QA Tester will take ownership of Quality Assurance (QA) within Christian Aid’s core Digital Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and user-friendly websites that are consistent and coherent.

This strategic role will embed agile testing practices, streamline QA processes, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Digital Team and the CRM Team, with an equal division of time between the two teams based in different divisions.​

Some of the main responsibilities of the Senior QA Tester will include:

  • Identify, manage and mitigate risks related to both digital and CRM projects ensuring high quality work that is impactful.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Product Owner and CRM Technical Lead to verify that all designs and technical outputs meet quality standards and align with project goals and wider organisational values and goals.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Optimisation Analyst and CRM Technical Lead to ensure all test results are properly tracked, analysed, and shared to support continuous learning, feedback and optimisation.
  • Design, write and execute visual regression and behaviour-driven testing for every code release, identifying and reporting any issues to the development teams to support a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Report and track defects: Log defects, provide clear information for developers to fix them, and retest to verify the issues are resolved.
  • Manage continuous improvement and optimise testing processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, consistency and coherency.
  • Utilise relevant analytics tools to measure feature performance against expected outcomes and provide actionable feedback to guide future development.
  • Create and execute manual scripts/scenarios, implementing a consistent standard across all CRM developments supporting with quality and consistency.
  • Manage 3rd party conformance with QAT & UAT standards by proactively raising identified issues and putting forward suggested improvements supporting with a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Provide daily progress reports through stand-ups and parking lot meetings building relationships based on trust and openness.

About you

Who we are looking for

Essential:

  • Higher education or equivalent experience obtained in a relevant subject area.
  • Substantial experience working with content management systems (CMS), particularly Drupal.
  • Developed ability in application of usability, accessibility and security standards.
  • Understanding of cross browser limitations and work arounds.
  • Understanding of optimisation techniques (both in file weight and perceived/actual rendering speed) and performance measurement.
  • Developed ability to interpret complex communications briefs from others.
  • Highly developed communication and collaboration skills and ability to work in an Agile team environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience of Dynamics 365 CRM CE.
  • Experience with Cypress / Percy / PlatformSH / SEMRush
  • Competency in test automation, test-driven development (TDD), and exploratory testing, along with a general understanding of development principles, programming languages
  • Experience of working with developers to unit test key use case scenarios
