Senior NHS Pathway Development Officer

Help us make it easier for men affected by prostate cancer to access the support they need, when they need it most. In this new role, you’ll develop and grow new referral and signposting pathways into Prostate Cancer UK’s services, working with NHS clinicians, Trusts and partner organisations to ensure more men and their loved ones get the right support at the right time.

You’ll build strong relationships across healthcare, charities and local services, identifying opportunities to connect people with our support services and putting the right operational and governance arrangements in place to make these pathways successful and sustainable.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll test and improve innovative approaches, using data and insight to understand what works best. You’ll play a key role in shaping future service delivery, ensuring our support reaches more people who need it.

We’re looking for someone with experience working across the UK health system and a strong understanding of cancer care, patient pathways and the role these support services play in improving patient outcomes. You’ll need to be confident building trusted relationships with clinicians, NHS Trusts and partner organisations, and have the curiosity to spot opportunities and test new ideas turning them into meaningful solutions.

You’ll need to be data literate and comfortable using insight to measure impact, improve services and inform decision-making. An understanding of service improvement, health inequalities and the potential of technology to enhance service delivery will help you succeed in this role.

This role is in salary Band 3, with a starting salary of £36,250 - £39,500 per year. We aim to pay the median salary for charity the sector. Following 12 months of successful service, colleagues will move to the midpoint of the pay band. The midpoint salary for this role is £42,500.

Our salaries reflect that the London office is our contractual place of work. We also pay a working-from-home allowance at the HMRC tax-free rate of £312 per year.

We are committed to paying at least the London Living Wage for all roles and apply the updated rate each April.

• Solid knowledge and understanding of the health system, particularly at Trust level, with a comprehensive, up-to-date understanding of cancer care in the UK, in particular patient pathways

• Proven track record in sustaining positive and productive stakeholder relationships with clinicians and other key contacts across the health system

• An effective and proven collaborator, both within a team and across a wider organisation – in particular an ability to challenge thinking and promote innovation in a positive and safe manner
