An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our newly formed Internal Consultancy team, as a Senior Internal Consultant. We are looking for someone who can drive diagnostic insight and change enablement across a complex portfolio of transformation initiatives, supporting outcomes that achieve business benefits for the RNLI.

About the role
This is a unique opportunity for a skilled Senior Internal Consultant to join us, who will be responsible for leading root cause investigations into complex organisational issues, shaping change strategies, and influencing executive decision-making through rigorous analysis and scenario modelling. You will be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring that change is grounded in evidence and aligned to business priorities and the organisational Blueprint.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Being the first point of consultancy support for the RNLI, either negating the need to use external consultants, or helping RNLI be an intelligent client, articulating clear requirements.
- Responsible for managing the ‘front door’ for new change opportunities and developing enterprise-wide diagnostic assessments to uncover systemic issues and strategic opportunities.
- Shaping and challenging business change proposals by evaluating multiple options, addressing root cause, risks, and long-term implications, resulting in deliverable change strategies.
- Considering the impact of all proposed change on front-line services and volunteers, to enable effective sustainable change to take place
- Partnering with senior leaders to translate insights into strategic decisions and investment cases to improve and optimise services.
- Coaching to enable a culture of continuous improvement across RNLI services.
About you
Our new Senior Internal Consultant will be someone who thrives on solving complex, systemic problems with clarity and precision, and is comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in a complex organisation.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Professional certifications in Change Management, Business Analysis, Lean or Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred).
- Extensive experience in organisational redesign, business analysis, strategy, or change leadership roles within complex organisations.
- A proven track record of leading root cause investigations, shaping and delivering on high-impact change initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior/executive levels.
- Expertise in scenario modelling, impact assessment, and benefits realisation.
- Familiarity with transformation frameworks, operating model design, and portfolio governance.
- Advanced proficiency in analytical tools and techniques (e.g. Systems thinking, Lean Six Sigma, data visualisation).
