Our Countryview Short Breaks Service provides specialist short break and respite support for children and young people with complex needs, creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where they can build confidence, develop independence, and enjoy new experiences.
Your new opportunity
We are now seeking a skilled and compassionate full time Senior Intensive Support Practitioner to join our dedicated team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to delivering outstanding care while supporting and mentoring colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the children and young people we support.
About the Role
As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed, person-centred support to children and young people with a range of complex needs. You will also provide guidance and leadership to colleagues, supporting the management team in the day-to-day running of the service.
This is a full time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week 5 days over 7.
You will:
- Provide specialist support to children and young people with complex physical, medical, behavioural and neurodivergent needs.
- Act as a key worker, developing positive and meaningful relationships with children, young people and their families.
- Support, mentor and guide Intensive Support Practitioners and volunteers.
- Complete risk assessments, care plans and support reviews.
- Work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and professional records and reports.
- Promote a safe, nurturing and rights-based environment at all times.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the service.
- Participate in the on-call rota as required.
What You'll Bring
We are looking for someone who combines strong practice experience with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Essential Qualifications
You must hold:
- An HNC Social Services (SCQF Level 7)or a relevant Health, Social Care or Education qualification, or be willing to work towards this.
- SVQ Level 3in a relevant subject area, or be willing to work towards achieving this qualification.
- Supervisory experience, supervision training, or a willingness to undertake Quarriers' PDA in Supervision.
Essential Skills
- Skills in supporting vulnerable children, young people and families.
- Knowledge of residential, short break or complex care services.
- Understanding of trauma-informed, rights-based and person-centred practice.
- Experience working alongside health, education and social care professionals.
- Strong report writing, recording and communication skills.
- A positive, resilient and flexible approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
- Commitment to SSSC registration requirements and ongoing professional development.

Driving Licence Requirement
Due to the rural and idyllic location of Countryview and the needs of the children and young people we support, a full, valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
