We are proud of our diverse community and our commitment to transforming students’ lives through high-quality teaching, research, and professional practice. Our modern campus has recently benefited from a £20 million investment, offering state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive environment for both staff and students.

The role

As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building, configuring, and maintaining the university’s IT infrastructure. You’ll work across servers, networks, cloud and on-premise hosting, device management, security, and Office 365. You’ll act as a subject matter expert in areas such as networking, infrastructure hosting, unified communications, and IT operations management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting IT infrastructure and security
  • Acting as the final escalation point for complex technical issues
  • Proactively monitoring and analysing trends to predict and prevent failures
  • Delivering technical training and support to colleagues and end users
  • Contributing to strategic IT direction and innovation

About you

You’ll have strong experience in infrastructure support, design, and implementation, with relevant industry certifications.

You’re a problem solver, detail-oriented, and able to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Scripting skills and knowledge of cloud platforms (ideally Azure) are desirable. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends is required.
