About the role:
Visa Direct Immigration is a well-established immigration law firm providing high-quality
legal services across all areas of the UK Immigration, Asylum, and Nationality Law.
We are a medium-sized firm with offices in Bristol and Swindon and are regulated by the
Immigration Advice Authority (IAA). Due to the continued growth of the firm, we are seeking an
experienced Level 3 Senior Caseworker with strong expertise in appeals, asylum, and
deportation/removal matters to join our team.
Job Summary
The Level 3 caseworker will manage caseload focusing on immigration appeals, asylum
claims, human rights applications, and deportation/removal cases in compliance with IAA
requirements. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, provide strategic legal
advice, and represent clients throughout the process.
Requirements
- IAA Level 3 accreditation (mandatory).
- Degree-level education (desirable)
- Demonstrable experience handling immigration appeals, asylum claims, and deportation/removal cases, with strong knowledge of UK immigration and asylum law (including ECHR and human rights grounds), experience using the HMCTS online appeal system, and the ability to manage a complex caseload independently.

Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain accurate, compliant, and well-organised client files in accordance with IAA
requirements.
2. Conduct detailed client consultations (in person, by telephone, or remotely) and take
comprehensive instructions.
3. Provide accurate, practical legal advice on asylum, human rights, deportation, bail, and
appeal matters, including devising legal strategy, assessing merits, providing fee
quotations, and issuing client care documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
4. Prepare and submit asylum applications, further submissions, human rights claims, bail
applications, and urgent removal representations.
5. Draft appeal skeleton arguments, supporting representations, JR, PAP, and applications.
6. Manage appeals through the HMCTS system, including First-tier and Upper Tribunal
matters, and represent clients at tribunals, conferences, and hearings where appropriate.
7. Liaise effectively with HOPO, UKVI, counsel, experts, and other relevant third parties.
8. Stay up to date with developments in immigration, asylum, and human rights law,
policy, and procedure.
9. Participate in peer supervision meetings and contribute to a collaborative team
environment.
10. Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the firm.
