Senior Financial Planning and Studios Manager - Premier League Studios
The Premier League Studio’s Finance department is looking for a Senior Financial Planning and Studios Manager to join the team and drive the organisation’s financial planning and operational finance support for our studio and production activities.
This role is central to ensuring accurate forecasting and commercially sound decision-making within a fast-paced, creative production environment. The successful candidate will partner closely with production, operations, commercial, and senior leadership teams to support project costing, resource planning, and performance analysis.

All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.
The role
Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Lead annual budgets and periodic reforecasts for studio and production cost centres
- Work with production and operations teams to develop budgets, analyse cost drivers and assess resource requirements
- Support medium and long-term planning for studio capacity, investment needs and commercial opportunities
- Report operational performance metrics such as utilisation, cost recovery and project profitability
Production Finance Support & Business Partnering
- Develop dashboards and analysis to support decision-making across production, commercial, and operational teams
- Review and challenge production forecasts, actuals and cost reconciliations
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to improve financial literacy and enhance operational decision-making
- Present financial insights clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Cost Management & Investment Planning
- Develop cost control measures to ensure business sustainability
- Evaluate investment opportunities, capital expenditure, and resource allocation
- Support commercial negotiations by providing financial modelling, pricing support, scenario planning and profitability analysis
- Ensure optimal financial management of productions, licensing agreements, and content distribution models
Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement
- Enhance financial models, reporting tools and processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility
- Work with finance systems teams to optimise the use of ERP, production management systems and forecasting tools
- Identify opportunities for automation and improved workflow management
Requirements for the role
- Chartered accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
- Strong experience in management accounting or FP&A or commercial finance
- Excellent analytical and modelling skills; confident working with large, complex data sets
- Ability to apply a structured approach towards balancing multiple demands and priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective communicator with the ability to translate complex financial information
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience within a production finance environment (TV, sports media or broadcasting), preferred
- Knowledge of working with accounting software, Concur, Microsoft Dynamics GP and 365 Business Central, preferred.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated and a good team player
