Job Profile
As a key member of CAFOD’s Integrated Finance team, the Senior Finance Business Support Partner plays a vital role in the implementation of the CIF strategy and leads on providing efficient and effective business support to CAFOD’s programme. This will include business support to the international and supporter-focused programmes, business model improvement, opportunities for improving efficiency and effectiveness and developing surge capacity and innovation.
The post holder will form part of the CIF Management Team, collectively sharing responsibility for providing efficient financial services and informative financial management information and supporting financial planning to enable all teams in CAFOD to deliver CAFOD’s overall programme.
The post holder will maintain a dotted-line relationship with national office finance managers and accountants and oversee national office bookkeeping, building the capacity of the offices to ensure accurate financial records are maintained, funds are managed properly, and local regulations and CAFOD organisational accounting requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
Business support for the international-focused programmes

Lead and maintain a community of practice among the national office finance officers and accountants to strengthen national office capacity, maintain robust financial events and controls, and ensure national office requirements are reflected in central system developments

Provide strategic support to international offices to address capacity gaps, including, where needed, providing surge support

Oversee the national office book-keeping to ensure records are accurate, debtors and creditors are settled on a timely basis, and funds are managed effectively

Lead the management of inter-office transactions, ensuring transactions are reconciled and allocated accurately

Lead the national office annual audit cycle

Support the Country Representatives in strengthening their oversight and financial planning for the National Offices they lead
Business Model improvement

Advising the Director of International Programmes and International Programme Leadership Team in making strategic resource allocation and financial decisions

Support programmes in strengthening their ways of working and identifying solutions to financial constraints and obstacles that threaten programme delivery.
Developing surge capacity

Travel as needed to provide additional support during emergencies, temporary capacity gaps, or periods of increased operational demand, including audit support

Provide business support to national offices to strengthen financial operations and service delivery.

Provide support on integrated funding and supporter fundraising initiatives, while building the capacity of non-financial managers to manage budgets and resources effectively.

Support the development of internal and external capacity-building initiatives.

Provide technical finance support and act as a key point of contact for colleagues working outside the UK.

Identify opportunities to improve ways of working, streamline processes, and increase operational efficiency.

Job Specific Competencies

Expertise in international finance operations across multi-currency and donor-funded environments, with experience ensuring compliance and building finance capability among non-finance stakeholders.

Strong data capability, with experience in financial systems, data integrity, and using technology (including AI where relevant)

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to empathise and understand needs and influence key stakeholders.
