The Army Benevolent Fund is recruiting for the position of Senior Events Manager (Maternity Cover)
The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) is the Army’s national charity, supporting soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families in times of need. Founded in 1944, our purpose is to provide a lifetime of support to serving soldiers, former soldiers, and their families when they are in need, ensuring they can avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity. The Charity operates a regional structure across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with its central office in London.
The role is responsible for delivering our virtual fundraising product Operation Bletchley and line managing the Events Executive delivering the London Marathon. There will also be a requirement to help develop a new fundraising product alongside other Managers and the Assistant Director of Central Events and High Value Relationships. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your project management and fundraising skills to ensure the events meet their recruitment goals, develop relationships with supporters to reach income targets, and ensure that event logistics run smoothly. The role supports the wider events portfolio and plays a vital role in raising £3.5 million across the Central Events and High Value Relationships team.
To excel in this role, you will need exceptional project management skills, fundraising experience, and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds. The ability to write and deliver multi-channel communication plans is essential, and you will enjoy picking up the phone and speaking to supporters and suppliers. You will be confident managing multi-faceted projects with a high level of organisation.
What We Offer
The salary is £28,005.00 per annum. After a probationary period of 3 months, the successful candidate will benefit from the Charity’s employment benefits, including an income protection scheme (after 6 months service) and employer pension contribution (after 3 months service). There will also be opportunities to participate in key Charity events and activities, with a TOIL scheme in place.
This is a part-time post for 21 hours per week, on a 9-month fixed term maternity contract based at the Charity’s office in Victoria. The Charity currently operates a minimum of 3 days in the office every 2 weeks for 21 hours a week role.
