A day in the life of our Senior Digital Engagement Planning & Strategy Manager
This role sits in or newly created integrated marketing and fundraising directorate. The vision for the combined directorate is to develop bold and audience-focused engagement activities that span the full portfolio of BRC's products from fundraising to social enterprise, volunteering, and operations.
This role is a specialist role within the Digital Engagement team. You’ll be responsible for the development of our digital campaigns annual plan and the development of digital marketing plans and post campaign analysis for all BRC campaigns. Your work will help bring together all the functions of the digital ecosystem, where you’ll work closely with other teams across the Directorate. You’ll also lead the implementation of our audience strategy in the digital space and the development of digital creative territories for multiple products and audiences. You’ll also have responsibility for the development of our digital marketing upskilling program to increase digital literacy across the Directorate.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Cross Organisational Collaboration:Collaborate across teams to plan and coordinate an ambitious and audience led digital campaigns annual plan. You’ll maximise income and engagement opportunities and bring together paid, earned and owned digital channels.
- Digital Campaigns Plan & Strategy:Lead the development of holistic digital campaigns engagement plans and post campaign analysis. Aligning teams, insights, and KPIs to maximise engagement and income across the full digital funnel.
- Audience Strategy:Advance the strategic direction and implementation of audience planning across core digital products and segments. Ensuring its insight‑led and consistently applied throughout the different campaigns.
- Partner with the Market Research and Voice of Supporter teams: Building a nuanced understanding of audience motivations, interests and barriers. Generating qualitative and quantitative research and insight. Translating this into actionable creative direction for external agencies and internal teams.
- Digital Creatives:Direct the development of new digital creatives territories for multiple products and segments. This includes the scoping, research, and onboarding of creative digital agencies.
- Capability mapping and skills development:Assess digital capability across teams and lead a structured upskilling programme, with clear frameworks and monitoring. This helps build organisation-wide digital literacy.
- Digital Strategy & Horizon Scanning:Support our digital engagement strategy through robust business cases, KPI planning, innovation and horizon scanning. Concurrently ensuring compliant and responsible use of digital data.
This is a pivotal role that will advance the development and execution of high-impact projects across the communication, marketing and fundraising directorate. You’ll play a central role in shaping the future of our work, leading with purpose in a values-driven organisation.
To be our successful Planning and Strategy Manager - Senior Digital Engagement, you’ll need:
- A track-record of delivering digital marketing/fundraising projects and public facing campaigns with particular focus on online income generation.
- A broad understanding of digital marketing ecosystem and ability to develop digital strategies for public engagement campaigns.
- A collaborative mindset; with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- To be skilled in strategy development, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in upskilling or training colleagues in digital marketing.
- Knowledge of audience insight, testing and segmentation methodologies and techniques.
