About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Development Coach to join us for this national role, with an exciting opportunity to travel across the UK to support regional centres as needed.

This is an opportunity to use your extensive coaching experience to work directly with 16–24-year-olds, equipping them with the confidence, mindset and skills they need to move into sustainable employment.

Key information:

  • Salary: from £36,000
  • Full-time (4 days considered), 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract
  • Due to the term-based nature of the programme, we expect annual leave to mostly be taken between rather than during terms.
  • You will be required to regularly travel both within and beyond London with regular travel expected to Northern Spear Centres and potentially stay for a period of time at different centres. All business expenses will be covered during the working week.

For more information please read through our Job Specification and Work with Us Pack.

If you require any reasonable adjustments as part of the recruitment process, please let us know.

Person Specification

  • A practising Christian, passionate about personally representing the values and beliefs of Spear, and our mission to equip and support young people facing barriers to employment.
  • Extensive previous experience of delivering the Spear Programme and a desire to continue to use and further develop coaching skills.
  • A positive attitude and a heart for upskilling others and releasing their potential, no matter what challenging circumstances either colleagues or trainees may be facing.
  • Flexible and comfortable with change, and an ability to work with last minute changes and bring structure. Able to combine proactive leadership with a responsive and reactive approach.
  • Experience in building rapport quickly. Effective interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence with a sense of humour and fun.
  • Good administrative and organisational skills, working well under pressure with the ability to exercise initiative and prioritise workload.
