The Learning Department plays a critical role in delivering this ambition by creating compelling public programmes that build skills, grow audiences, and deepen the museum’s relevance across education, culture, and industry.
The Senior Curator: Public Practice will be a strategic thinker and connector, positioning the museum as a leading platform for engaging audiences with design’s environmental, social, and economic impact. As an ambassador for the museum, they will develop high-impact programmes, cultivate new partnerships across communities, education, and the creative industries, and strengthen existing relationships.
Job scope
This role will oversee the museum's talks and events programme, and lead community projects that engage a wide range of audiences, including adults, volunteers, young people, students in higher education, and people with disabilities and access requirements.
Terms and Conditions
Salary: up to £38,760 per annum, dependent on experience
Holidays: 25 days per annum + Christmas eve (museum closed)
Hours: 35 hours per week/full time
Location: the Design Museum Kensington is the place of work - with a hybrid arrangement of 60% of an employee’s role to be performed at the museum and 40% remote.
Special demands of the role: the role will work at times suited to needs of audiences, including evenings and weekends as required.
