Up to £37,000 Permanent / Full Time Stevenage with Hybrid Working

You’ll be joining a large, supportive marketing and communications community — a team of 40+ professionals, giving you the chance to learn from experienced peers, share your own expertise, and grow through collaboration.
Hybrid Working Arrangement – As part of our hybrid approach, you’ll need to be in the office twice every week, with Thursday as an essential requirement to support collaboration and connection across the marketing team.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Communications Executive, you’ll be a highly visible member of our dynamic and fast-paced Corporate Communications team, playing a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the internal culture and reputation of the IET, one of the world’s largest professional engineering and technology organisations. You’ll deliver impactful internal and external communications that connect with a wide range of audiences, including members, volunteers, colleagues, journalists and wider society, that help bring our purpose to life.
As a well-rounded and experienced communications professional, you’ll be a natural collaborator with creative flair who can bridge internal and external messaging. Your role will help align these two strategically important areas through targeted campaigns, compelling news content, and thought leadership, and you’ll be comfortable using a mix of traditional and digital channels. Externally, your work will help unify our voice across key engineering and technology topics that matter to our members, and, internally, you’ll play a key part in promoting a culture where colleagues feel empowered, informed, and valued.
What we hope you can bring to the role
We’re looking for a talented communications professional with a proven ability to deliver impactful campaigns and editorial content across both internal and external audiences. You’ll be confident working with senior stakeholders, adept at switching between audience groups, and ready to manage multiple priorities in a busy, changing environment.
If you’re passionate about storytelling, have excellent writing and editing skills, and can spot communications opportunities others might miss, this is the role for you. Experience in stakeholder communications, internal engagement, journalism or PR will stand you in good stead, as will familiarity with engagement channels such as on an intranet, planning a Town Hall and getting creative to support content and engagement for live events.

- Track communications performance metrics to measure impact and identify areas for improvement, ensuring we remain a leading voice in the sector and drive engagement from within.
